Minknose opened her eyes slowly, blinking a few times as her eyes adjusted to the darkness within the den. She stood, stretching slowly, her jaws parting wide in a yawn. She straightened, turning her head a few degrees to the side to stretch her neck, the joints in it popping softly. Rolling her shoulders slightly, she turned and slipped out of the den.

In the early morning air, Minknose turned her face skyward. Clouds slightly concealed the stars above. For a moment, Minknose studied the stars, simply enjoying a moment in the camp alone. She sighed, slowly trudging towards her usual spot, where she would see the dawn patrol out. She had herself on the midday patrol, and an evening hunting patrol, but she still liked to see the dawn patrol out, even when she wasn’t actively part of it herself. Within the warriors den that she’d just exited, she heard the grumbled awakenings of several warriors.

It was a pain she felt, she had never been a fan of the dawn patrol, but it was a needed thing to make sure nothing had gone awry in the night while they’d been slumbering. Minknose sat, curling her short tail around her paws, awaiting their emergence from the den. The members of the dawn patrol knew it was time to rise and shine when they heard her get up and leave the den.
