sorrelwhisker (he/him) | orchidclan
Sorrelwhisker always had a soft spot for apprentices. Mostly that they were gullible and easy enough to manipulate. It was always best to get their attention while they were young and impressionable. He had done this for most of his time as a warrior, making sure the apprentices saw him as a good guy who loved to help out. It was a long plan for him should one day he somehow misstep - as unlikely as he believed that to be - he would have the support of all the younger Clan cats who could never see such a "good guy" do something so terrible. "No! Not Sorrelwhisker!" they would cry. It didn't even matter if StarClan themselves came down to tell them to throw him out, they would rally by his side.
Such thoughts were what led the tom to where he was. He was dragging a piece of bark which he had loaded with as many fallen leaves as he could. Hues of yellow, red and brown all together to make any young cat squeal with joy. Leaf-fall was a great time of year to soften up a young cat who was going through a difficult time. Sorrelwhisker could also think of just the young she-cat who would be easily buttered up to a handsome warrior trying to make her feel better while she was stuck in the medicine cat's den. On top of that, he was more than well aware of the she-cat's flirting with the incredibly anxiety ridden medicine cat apprentice, who might be softened up by a warrior helping give him a break from her attention.
There was a feeling of relief when the sun started to hit Sorrelwhisker's back, notifying him that he was finally reaching the clearing that marked OrchidClan's camp. He released the bark for a moment and looked around him, getting his bearings before beginning to drag the leaves once more over towards the hollow tree where Ice-eyes and Dipperpaw slept and did their work. He was sure that inside, Daypaw was probably busy bothering her medicine cats - and Dipperpaw in particular, who had seemed to be especially droopy as of late after a meeting he'd had with Morningstar. Though Sorrelwhisker was incredibly curious as to what happened between the leader and apprentice, he needed to come about the information naturally without sticking his nose into business too much in order to become suspicious.
Finally, with a huff, Sorrelwhisker dropped the bark. With a final heave of energy, he tipped the bark over in order to let the leaves fall into a more natural pile on the ground so that Daypaw wouldn't be crawling all over some rough bark and could still tumble in the leaves and the grass instead rather than hurting herself further.
"Ice-eyes? Dipperpaw?" Sorrelwhisker called into the medicine cat's den, making sure he wasn't interrupting anything too important. "Is Daypaw in here? I have a surprise for her just outside so long as she has the strength to come see."
He allowed himself to purr - trying to hide the fact that perhaps it was a bit forced. He wanted to sound as warm and inviting as possible. Sorrelwhisker stepped back outside, settling himself down near his leaf pile and wrapping his tail around his paws, almost proud of his work. Yes, this would work perfectly.
