His eyes were large and round as he observed his ‘clanmates’ gather from the nooks and crannies in which they were hiding. He wasn’t a particularly social cat, let alone on days like these. But he loved to watch and observe. He had to have something to report back to his siblings after all. Even if he had found himself starting to grow ever so slightly distant from them these days. He found the routine of clan life a little relaxing now. Still not his speed, but he was used to it. It would be weirder not to be here at this point. However a loud voice pulled the silver tabby from his inner thoughts. His large ears tipped forward as he watched the small tabby on the log speak up.



Wrenpaw

While Gracklepaw was quick to go flying from their den straight towards their brother, the white and black she-cat wasn’t too far behind her sister. After all, a flock always seemed to travel together, it was only right. Watching with wide eyes as her sister almost ran straight into Ripplefoot, she was sure to carefully avoid the older cat, muttering a ‘sorry’ in passing for her sister.

“C’mon Dipperpaw! You gotta come a little closer, we don’t need to be at the front this time, but you can’t hide!” she added, moving to her brothers side to nudge him with her nose. An attempt to get the other to budge from where he had decided to plant himself.



Morningstar

The petite she-cat watched as her clan started to come to life. The peace was stirred up with the humming of cats chattering as they rolled from their slumber or sharing of tongues. It was always something she admired in clan life, just how much life really came from within. This was the heart and soul of the clan, and these meetings brought everyone together.

Watching one of her targets come tumbling from the nursery, nearly shoving her adopted parents out of the way in her excitement. Granted, there was also the whirl winds that almost took out a warrior in their desperate race to get the poor Dipperpaw from his nest. One day these very cats would the up and coming in Orchidclan, it was only a matter of time really. Feeling as though enough cats had come out to gather she cleared her throat before speaking,

“Today in Orchidclan we gather to celebrate the good that has come from these past few brutal moons. On this day I would like to welcome Mountainpaw up here to receive his warrior name. After moons of training alongside Rookbriar, we have seen the fine young cat you’ve grown into. I would like to welcome you to Orchidclan as full fledged warrior as Mountaindew,” she called, letting her voice carry around the clearing. Giving the tom a moment to come and sit below the Fallen Log.

“We also have a young cat who has been very patiently waiting to start their apprenticeship,” she called, looking down at the young she-cat, nodding for her to come forward below the Fallen Log as well, “Daykit, you have endured more then you should for a cat your age - and I think it’s time you took the next step in your journey. From this day forward you will be known as Daypaw, and you will be entrusted under the careful eye of Ripplefoot.” she smiled down at the young cat. Her heart really did go out to the little thing, but she showed great signs of life and would one day grow into a fine young warrior.

Lifting her head high once more a warmth met her maw as she looked towards the nursery, “We also have more wonderful news for the clan. In recent days Violetwing has had her kittens. We would like to welcome Rainkit, Mistkit, Hailkit and Breezekit to Orchidclan” she declared with pride. Leafbare had been very rough with them with the tension with Galeclan and the threat of Foxes, but it was clear that Orchidclan wasn’t going to be left behind. They were a strong clan that was still growing, and nothing would stop them from remaining strong and proud.
