T'was the dawn of newleaf, and all through the forest, several creatures were stirring -- even the mouse Wapatofur could smell a few tails-lengths away, likely obscured under a mound of rotting leaves. His mouth watered at the thought of its juicy flesh on his tongue. Leafbare had not been kind to a gargantuan lad like himself, and his body craved a hearty meal.

The GaleClan deputy, however, still had things to do before he could sink his teeth into the little squeaker. Forcing his gaze back upon the two warriors in front of him -- the cats who comprised his tiny hunting patrol -- he cleared his throat softly.

"Shortwave, Foxtail, where do you plan to hunt?" Wapatofur's hunger made him, a common bumbling fool on a good day, bolder and much more precise with his words.

He pointed a large forepaw in the direction of the aforementioned mouse. "I smell some prey over there. I'm going to go after it. I'll likely be in the general area for a while if you need anything."

Wapatofur's belly growled as he flicked his tail in farewell and turned on his heels, eyes transfixed on the debris sheltering his next meal. Well, maybe not his next meal, but someone's in the clan. Internally, he lamented the warriors code's prohibition on eating during a hunting patrol.
