Character bio: Heronfrost never knew his father. His mother never told her kits about him and Heronfrost never asked. He's a bit of an unpopular cat among his more joyful Clanmates and a verbal sparring partner with the more cynical. He has a sharp tongue and a dry wit and almost zero patience for cats who play when they should be working. If you should be hunting, then you need to ACTUALLY BE hunting.

Heronfrost isn't a cat to cross lightly. He's never seen with a smile, or even a grin. The most relaxed anybody's ever seen his face is neutral. It takes an exceedingly privileged cat to see the wry grins when he's being sarcastic.
He's got expectations, of himself and his Clanmates, and he doesn't think they're unreasonable. During your free time, you are allowed to be as frivolous and goofy as you wish. But when you're on patrol? Especially with him? You need to be actually doing what you're supposed to be doing. Hunting patrol, go hunt! Border patrol, be alert. He's got no time for warriors that act like kits!
ACTUAL kits, he also doesn't have time for. Not that he doesn't like them or anything! Heronfrost likes kits just fine! He's just... mildly afraid of hurting them, physically and emotionally. Heronfrost know he isn't the nicest cat around, and the thought of making a kit cry makes him feel guilty even though he's never done it.
As such, he avoids the nursery. Doesn't matter who's in it. If a queen needs him for whatever reason, they can search him out themself. Just don't bring any small impressionable easily squashible kit near him.
Was born alongside Minnowkit to the queen Sleetstorm. Never learned who his father was and didn't much care to find out. At first Heronkit was like a typical kit his age! Played games, teased his sister, fought with his sister. All that good stuff.
That ended when Sleetstorm left the nursery early to go back to her warrior duties. She didn't even sleep in the nursery with them anymore, her scent in the nest growing stale until the moss was changed all together.
He didn't understand it, at first. Didn't she still love them? It took a fair while, a few moons, for him to realize. As much as Sleetstorm DID love them, she was far too devoted to her duties as a warrior of ShoreClan.
By the time Heronkit became Heronpaw, his playful kit-like innocent had faded into jaded grumpiness.
