basic bio.

A medium-length furred black and white tom, Dipperpaw is incredibly skittish and anxious. He is very often self-conscious and self-depricating, worried about being a failure and being striken down by StarClan. If he could, he would spend all of his time hidden in the back dark of the medicine cat's den and never have to come out and speak to anyone ever, but he'll have to work on it. Regardless of the fact that he speaks to as few cats as possible, Dipperpaw is incredibly sweet and gentle, as well as quite intelligent when it comes to herbs - though you'd never get it to believe it about himself.

personality.

Dipperpaw can be somewhat difficult to get to know, primarily because he doesn't interact with a lot of cats if he can help it. He's often quite skittish and anxious to get to know others, as well as easily startled and fearful. One wrong step can send him spiraling and thinking he's done something horribly wrong which will result in either that cat or StarClan preparing to strike him down in that exact moment. Unfortunately, this tends to be to his great detriment given that as someone training to be a medicine cat, he needs to interact with his Clanmates on a rather regular basis. He's sure to exhaust some of his Clanmates due to much preferring to hide rather than have to deal with any upset and angry cats looking for assistance.[break]

It's quite clear that Dipperpaw is rather self-conscious of his abilities. He feels as though he was delegated into the medicine den because he probably would have been too skittish or scared to be a proper warrior, and sees it as a way to just try and make due with what OrchidClan has been given with such a literal scaredy-cat. That being said, Dipperpaw is actually incredibly gentle, sweet and soft with injured cats. He takes great care of the herbs in stock and finds them all incredibly fascinating. And when he isn't afraid that a cat is about to bite his ear off, he can be incredibly soft and reassuring with them, letting them know that everything is going to be alright. In the end, despite his self-consciousness, he's actually quite talented with what he knows and does.

description.

Dipperpaw has medium-length fur, often somehow kept in rather nice condition at all times. The base of his coat is black, with a large white patch on his chest, around his muzzle, up between his eyes, and all four of his paws. There remains a black patch along Dipperpaw's chin in the midst of his bright white fur. He has long white whiskers which are often twitching in a slight form of an anxious twitch. As well, Dipperpaw's ears are always twitching and moving in a radar-like way in order to try and make sure no one sneaks up on him when he's least expecting it - not that it works all that well for him given that most cats seem to spook him quite easily. He also has bright yellow eyes which are always awake and alert, looking for danger, but they do also serve as one of his softest emotional features when he needs to be taking care of someone.[break]

Dipperpaw carries a very tense feeling about him, something along his body almost always twitching with nervousness, and he is rarely found totally still or relaxed. When he isn't fully on alert, he is often found making himself as small as possible in order to hide in the background, slinking away to a good place where he can hide away and disappear from everyone's gaze so they aren't watching him before he's sure he will inevitably mess something up.

history.

Dipperkit was born the last of his litter alongside his sisters Robinkit and Gracklekit to Wisteriawing and Cardinalsong. He was certainly the quietest and clearly most skittish of the three, rarely speaking up and more often than not found following his sisters around. Even when they wanted to do something that kicked his anxiety up to a twelve, he would follow them. Though his sisters were often brave and brash, he would follow them anywhere. This sometimes led them into the leader's den or the medicine cat's den, even if they weren't invited. Worst was always when they were sometimes chased out. Dipperkit would often squeal in fear and sometimes cause a bit of a mess, which was more often one of his most sore spots in the medicine cat's den. He would try to hide from Iceeyes, but he should have known better than to try and hide from the sight of a blind cat who would easily sniff him out. Dipperkit would usually end up helping the medicine cat put her things back while his sisters skipped out on these duties. Because of this, he started learning how to identify some of the various herbs and leaves and berries from helping Iceeyes put things back to how she liked it.[break]

When it came time for the litter to become apprentices, Dipperkit could not have been more nervous. Wisteriawing had to practically drag the tom out in front of everyone, where he could have sworn he was ready to faint at any moment if anyone looked at him any longer. When Morningstar called his name and said that he would become the Clan's new medicine cat apprentice, he wasn't sure how he felt about it. Part of him wondered if it was because Morningstar could tell he would be an absolute failure of a warrior with his skittish behaviour, but he had simply been fortunate enough that maybe Iceeyes saw something in him and his quick ability to learn to differentiate the different items in her den at such a young age.
