Warm morning rain drizzled upon the four cats huddled below, adding to the overall dark and dreary ambiance of OrchidClan's camp during Leaf Fall.
The leader of the quartet, a dark gray tom with a husky physique, stood nearest to the entrance, speaking softly to his companions, his green eyes warm and gentle.
"How are you all feeling today? Are you all ready to head out?" The young clan cat -- a fatherly chap with the name of Rookbriar -- flashed each warrior an eager grin, tail twitching with excitement. This was his first time leading a border patrol, an honor he'd been waiting for all his life. That, and becoming a mentor. Oh, and having a clan full of kits who would carry on his legacy. Today's achievement, though, would suffice for now.
"Alright, great. Let's be on our way." With a flick of his tail, Rookbriar bounded out of the camp entrance, setting a steady but unintimidating pace. "As we head to the border, remember to keep your ears peeled and your eyes open for anything concerning or suspicious within our territory. This might be our land, but it's still untamed."
