Timberwolf hadn’t meant to take so long to decide if he wanted — needed — help or not, but… these things happen from time to time. He was old, one of the oldest in the clan by this point, and he felt at times that he could just simply… Take his time if he wanted to… However, now was not one of those moments. Not intentionally, at least. He smiled, however, when there seemed to be no hard feelings from Ripplefoot.

“I’m well,” she said, although something nagged at the back of Timberwolf’s brain. “I’m not on patrol until later today, so I have some time to spare to help an old friend… emphasis on old.” She flashed a cheeky little expression his way. Timberwolf feigned offense, his jaw dropping open slightly.

“Hey, you’re not too far behind me,” Timberwolf teased back, his tail swishing around to flick Ripplefoot’s shoulder lightly. “You’ve been in this friendship as long as I have.” he continued on with a gentle purr rumbling in his age-touched voice.

The two worked in silence for a bit, weaving vines in and out of the den wall.

“Not to sound like an old pile of dust, but how’re your joints feeling? The nights are starting to grow a little colder, and I worry about some of you more senior warriors now. I remember how it was to get up at times and feel as if I hadn’t slept any from how stiff I’d managed to get. Still happens. But at least I can take my time working the stiffness out now.” Timberwolf meowed, keeping his voice low, knowing that age, at times, was a bit of a touchy subject for Ripplefoot.

In truth, he knew she should have joined in him the elder’s den some moons ago, but he knew that he himself had stuck out as a warrior for as long as he could before he’d been forced to the Elder’s den after some coaxing from other warriors around him who saw just how difficult things were getting for him.
