The day hadn't even properly started yet and Heronfrost was already over it. Newleaf had arrived and most cats would be ecstatic over it. The frost was gone, the snow had all melted, the air was finally warmed up, all that good stuff.
Unfortunately that came with it's own mess of problems. Water levels had risen everywhere, including the ocean ShoreClan needed to survive. Rivers were being carefully monitored as banks broke, taking up chunks of hunting grounds for all of the Clans.
Oh the other Clans might PLAY at peace. They might rejoice in the prey coming out of hiding and the sight and smell of new green things growing in the earth. Heronfrost didn't trust a single hair on their pelts.
Which is why Heronfrost volunteered for as many border patrols he could get, even if that meant waking up even before the morning birds had begun singing.
A yawn involuntarily escaped his maw. Heronfrost was quick to stifle it and glare around, like he was expecting somebody to judge him for being tired. "Not a word." he growled out with a glare.
