A ghostly creature emerged from the fog to Coralpelt's left, its haunting blue eyes its only fully visible feature. As the mist dissipated, the apparition slowly solidified into a tall gaunt white feline, jaws clamped around a still-flopping fish. As the androgynous-looking cat drew nearer to the older warrior, its eyes widened for a moment, as though it had only just registered the presence of another feline. In an instant, the glimmer of surprise disappeared from the cat's gaze, replaced with an unsettling twinkle.

The feline clamped its jaws tighter, and the fish went limp. It placed the fish noiselessly on the ground, eyes boring into the older tom's fur.

"Hello, Coralpelt, is it?" Lisped the strange she-cat named Maggotcheer. She flashed the back of the tom's head with her disturbing bucktoothed grin. "Care for a freshhhhly caught fishhhh?"
