Dipperpaw can be somewhat difficult to get to know, primarily because he doesn't interact with a lot of cats if he can help it. He's often quite skittish and anxious to get to know others, as well as easily startled and fearful. One wrong step can send him spiraling and thinking he's done something horribly wrong which will result in either that cat or StarClan preparing to strike him down in that exact moment. Unfortunately, this tends to be to his great detriment given that as someone training to be a medicine cat, he needs to interact with his Clanmates on a rather regular basis. He's sure to exhaust some of his Clanmates due to much preferring to hide rather than have to deal with any upset and angry cats looking for assistance.

It's quite clear that Dipperpaw is rather self-conscious of his abilities. He feels as though he was delegated into the medicine den because he probably would have been too skittish or scared to be a proper warrior, and sees it as a way to just try and make due with what OrchidClan has been given with such a literal scaredy-cat. That being said, Dipperpaw is actually incredibly gentle, sweet and soft with injured cats. He takes great care of the herbs in stock and finds them all incredibly fascinating. And when he isn't afraid that a cat is about to bite his ear off, he can be incredibly soft and reassuring with them, letting them know that everything is going to be alright. In the end, despite his self-consciousness, he's actually quite talented with what he knows and does.

When he isn't fully on alert, he is often found making himself as small as possible in order to hide in the background, slinking away to a good place where he can hide away and disappear from everyone's gaze so they aren't watching him before he's sure he will inevitably mess something up.
